If you're especially open and adventurous I'd point out that a straight razor is more intuitive than you probably think and definitely the easiest on the skin of any way to shave. Haven't tried oneblade but it does seem like it inhabits that in-between space you're interested in. I only mention that because if you wind up in the same boat you shouldn't think that not liking the Supply means you don't like other injectors (nor vice versa). I found the Supply weirdly difficult to use but some really enjoy them, shaving is very subjective. Vintage Schick are much less expensive than any other option because they were common but a bit more obscure than DE so there are tonnes just kicking around. The later model vintage Schick injectors were the only non cartridge razor I could safely use in a hurry / hungover / otherwise incapacitated until I got a Henson and an L1 Sabre. I think you're on the right track and will eventually find something that works. New? Curious? Have questions? Go nuts - the only thing we don't do in here is shut up about shaving!!!Īll image posts must have description of product(s) in the comments.įor detailed rules check out the rules wiki FAQ and info pagesĭeals on gear / swap meet at /r/shave_bazaar Your suggestions are appreciated.Tips, tricks, questions and bragging about shaving with straight, double edge or injector blade razors. I know that I'm not interested in the Gem style razors at this time and the SE blades that they take as I'm leaning more toward the injector blade style. What should I expect from a vintage injector razor in comparison to the King Cobra and how do the blades compare? What vintage injector is most like the Cobra or King Cobra? I like an aggressive razor that gives a really close shave. Not that I try to squeeze every shave out of a blade but more that I've noticed no drop in quality during this time frame. These blades last me around 30 three pass shaves per blade as opposed to the six shaves I get from a Feather DE blade. I usually go the third pass anyway and the shave is about as good as it gets. The blades give me the results of a three pass DE shave in two passes. So I know that I like the feel of a SE injector style razor. I find myself using the King Cobra most days now and I prefer the Feather Professional blades in it. It's pretty cool and all, but again not as close of a shave for me. 60 60 Count (Pack of 1) 4.3 out of 5 stars 388. I have a Rolls razor also that I won in a PIF a long time ago. Pretty decent but not anywhere near perfection so sometimes I pick one up on the weekend. I have some straight razors that I shave with here and there for fun but I'm not to the point where I can get as close of a shave with them. I also have several DE razors including several ATT, LASS BBS-1 and some vintage razors. I've even shimmed the Mongoose to make it more aggressive as it was a bit mild for me. I do have a Mongoose as well but prefer the King Cobra. It seems, like the modern versions, that these aren't as popular as the DE razors, so it might be something fun to explore.Ĭurrently in SE I'm using mostly a King Cobra Razor. I mean I knew it was here but I never really spent any time in here learning about SE razors. Ok, so I'm not new to the forum but somehow I've entirely missed this section.
